WHO ARE THEY EXACTLY?
De Special Social Club hosts club nights, events, and get-togethers across the country, specifically for people with disabilities. Their events are bursting with energy, joy, and a deep sense of connection. Here, it doesn’t matter what label the world gives you. You just show up, as you are, and you’re immediately part of something. That’s the power of community, and it deserves to be celebrated visually as well.
De Special Social Club is a community where young adults with disabilities can connect, dance, and celebrate life without feeling different. Because everyone deserves a place to be themselves, let go, and have fun.
ANY INSIGHTS?
The club already had a strong foundation of activities and members, but they were missing a tangible way to celebrate and stimulate participation. There wasn’t yet a tool to track someone's journey within the community or highlight their growth and involvement. The challenge? Create something festive and accessible that feels personal and motivating.

AND WHAT SEEMS TO BE THE PROBLEM?
There was no way for members to see their progress or feel the pride of being part of something bigger. The club wanted something that not only encouraged continued participation, but also sparked curiosity and excitement in new members. A visual language that celebrates inclusion, not by toning things down, but by turning up the volume on joy and visibility.
HOW DID I GET ON
WITH IT?
I designed a vibrant, illustrative, and accessible member card and accompanying flyer. A design that’s easy to use and full of playfulness. The card works with stamps, levels, and fun challenges to reward participation and personal growth. I developed a visual bingo-style concept that encourages members to try new things, invite friends, and celebrate milestones. Bright colors, clear visuals, and positive language all work together to radiate the Club’s inclusive energy.
THE VOICE OF BELONGING
The tone of voice is light, inviting, and full of joy. It's not about what you "can" or "can't" do, but about what you feel like doing. The language encourages exploration and celebrates being yourself, exactly as you are. Every line was written with positivity, clarity, and empowerment in mind.
BREATHES COMMUNITY
The final result is more than just a card. It’s a keepsake that grows with the member. A badge of honor. The flyer helps spread the word and reach new potential members in an accessible, friendly way. Together, they make the Club’s values tangible: belonging, connection, and the freedom to have fun, without limits.
AND THE RESULTS?
The Special Social Club now has a tool that reflects their mission and enhances the experience of being a member. Participants feel seen, valued, and motivated to keep joining in. New faces feel welcome from the very start. And best of all? The club's energy is now visible not just at the events, but in every element of their communication. I’m proud to have helped bring that to life.
